Astronomy Badge – Cubs Visit to Planetarium – ‘We are Aliens!’

Date: 6th Dec 2019 Author: Peter Jacques

Cubs visited the Great North Museum: Hancock – Newcastle upon Tyne as part of the Astronomy Badge – Cubs project.
The Cubs visited the Planetarium  exhibition – ‘We are Aliens!’ to understand constellations, planets and the formation of the universe – and the potential for alien life forms.
The human race is connected better and faster than ever before but what about elsewhere? The ‘We Are Aliens! planetarium 3-D experience’  took us on an epic ride in the hunt for the evidence of alien life. Cubs also be took part in a scavenger hunt within the museum and followed research/information trails too.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
