Scout Hadrians Wall Walk – The Sill, Northumberland

Date: 29th May 2019 Author: Scout Websites

As part of the Expedition Challenge Scouts planned a circular walk along Hardian’s Wall. The Sill, the UK’s National Landscape Discovery Centre at Once Brewed in the Northumberland National Park, was our starting point – and we hiked to Sycamore Gap (a famous tree) and alongside the Roman wall then into ‘Pict’ territory passing through fields, marshes and lakes back to base. At The Sill we were shown the new accommodation, displays, and adults enjoyed the restaurant treats whilst the Scouts had snacks on the grassed roof. NB The Sill is open to all the family and worth a visit anytime – PJ.  Visit Northumberland National Park  – The Sill
